    Letters To Parents

Introducing Arbor Parent Portal and Parent App

We sent a letter home at the end of the summer term regarding the new system we are using to manage school data and communications, Arbor. Hopefully, by now you will have downloaded the app, but if not, please read the letter and follow the instructions found at the bottom of this page or follow this link:

    Forest Way Wider Leadership Team

We are pleased to inform you of an exciting change to our leadership structure that will be occurring from Easter 2025. You can read the details of the change in the letter below.

SEND School Transport - Apply for 2025/2026

The application form for 2025/26 transport assistance is now live on the Council’s website. You can access it by clicking here:

    Apply for SEND school transport

You need to apply for transport for 2025-2026 if

    - your son/daughter is starting at Forest Way School in August.
    - your son/daughter is moving to a new provision in August
    - your son/daughter is currently in years 11, 12, 13 or 14.

You also need to notify transport if you are going to be moving house and your son/daughter currently has or will need transport going forwards.

Please read the letter below for further information.

New Government Guidance about School Attendance

9 September 2024: Please see letter below that has been sent home with further information about the Attendance Policy.

8 July 2024: Please see below a letter to inform you of new statutory Department for Education (DfE) government guidance: Working together to improve school attendance. There is now a new National Framework for Penalty Notices that will come into force for unauthorised absences that occur after 19th August 2024. Historically we have never fined parent/carers for unauthorised absence and have taken a very supportive approach in our work with you. However, the guidelines are very clear and it may be a sanction that we have to consider. Please read the letter for further information - a copy was sent home with pupils on 8th July 2024 and posted to any absentees.
